JAMMU, Feb 6: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J&K, S M Sahai today felicitated Rashid Ahmed Choudhary and Khalida Banoo of J&K Police for their outstanding performance in the arena of sports.
While interacting with these officials in a simple but well attended function, Mr. Sahai congratulated International fencer Rashid Ahmed Choudhary for being honoured with State Award by J&K State Government on Republic Day-2014 and Khalida Banoo for winning gold medal in Wushu in 3rd Lusofonia International Games played at Nehru Stadium in Panaji, Goa recently.
Mr Sahai assured these talented sportspersons that their performance would be recognized as per sports policy of the Police organization and the organization would provide them all facilities to fetch better results in future.
He said that Khalida is a regular player of J&K Police Central Boxing team who won gold medal by defeating Portuguese Wushuist Ana Fernandes by 2- 0 in the thrilling final of 3rd Lusofonia International Games in which over 3000 athletes from 12 nations participated, adding that Rashid Ahmed Choudhary, an International fencer has been granted State award on Republic Day-2014 by J&K Government for being an outstanding sportsperson and the award carries a cash reward of Rs.51000, a medal and a citation.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were IGP Armed/IRP Jammu Zone, PR.Manhas; DIG Armed Jammu Range, KL Bhagat; DIG IR Jammu Range, Vijay Singh Sambyal; DyCO IRP 10th Bn, Mazahar Shah, Sports Medicine Specialist, Dr Sanjogita Soodan and other senior officers of Police Department.
