Safran CC enters semi-final in KPCL

JAMMU, Oct 5: Trouncing their rivals convincingly in their respective matches, Safran Cricket Club (Safran CC) has become first team to reach semi-final by defeating Zeethyar XI with 7 wickets in the ongoing Kashmiri Pandit Cricket League (KPCL), being organised by Safran Cricket Club in collaboration with 3M Home Water Filtration at KC Sports Club, here today.

Batting first, Zethyar XI scored 104 runs by losing all wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Abhinav Kaw made 27 runs while Sidharth Bhat and Anmol Bhan contributed 22 and 16 runs respectively. For Safran CC, Sanchit Dass and Vikas clinched 2 wickets each while Arun Zalpuri, Praful Dhar and Ritik Jotshi bagged 1 wicket each.

In reply, Safran CC chased the target in just 10.1 overs by losing only 3 wickets. Sarthak Peshin made fifty while Deepak Koul and Rohal Koul scored 23 and 18 runs respectively. Sagar Pandita, Ashish Bhat and Vishal Bhat secured 1 wicket each for Zeethyar XI.

Sarthak Pashin was declared as Man of the Match for his outstanding performance with bat. The match was officiated by Ishan and Ajit as umpires.

Meanwhile, in another match of the same League- Milchaar Chargers trounced Lal Ded Cricket Club by 32 runs. Batting first Milchaar Chargers made 175 runs by losing 7 wickets. Akash Raina made century in just 59 balls with the help of nine boundaries and 7 sixes whereas Akash Tufchi contributed 20 runs. Rakshit secured 2 wickets while Nithlesh Tickoo and Bharat Saraf succeeded to bag 1 wicket each for Lal Ded CC.

Chasing the target, Lal Ded CC bundled out at 143 runs in which Sonu Zutshi made fifty while Rakshit and Bharat Saraf contributed 24 and 22 runs respectively. Mukul Rawal succeeded to clinch 3 wickets whereas Aman Zutshi and Sumit Bhat secured 1 wicket each.

Akash Raina was announced as Man of the Match for his outstanding batting whereas Ishan Dhar and Vicky Raina were acted as umpires.
