JAMMU, Jan 12: Safran Cricket Club (Safran CC) trounced YK Sports Club (YKSC) by a big margin of 109 runs in the New Year Milan Cup, played at Country Cricket Stadium, Ghorta, here today.
Batting first, Safran CC made 235 runs by losing 9 wickets in the process in stipulated 40 overs wherein Akash Gupta made highest 64 runs, while Sarthak Khoda and Surya Vaishnavi made 39 and 36 runs respectively and Rohit contributed 26 runs. From the bowling side, Awas Khan took 3 wickets, while Yawar Khan and Umar Khan bagged 2 wickets each and Sohil Sheikh and Sahil Kumar clinched a wicket piece.
In reply, YKSC bundled out at 126 runs in 26 overs and lost the match by the big margin of 109 runs. Muneb Sheikh scored 34 runs, while Yawar Khan and Saddiq contributed 22 and 11 runs respectively to the total. From the bowling side, Sarthak Khoda was the wrecker-in-chief who took 7 wickets while Yogesh Sikka took 3 wickets.
Sarthak Khoda was declared as man of the match for his outstanding performance.
