JAMMU, Nov 19: Jammu & Kashmir produced a commanding performance to defeat Goa by 50 runs in the ongoing U-23 Men’s State-A Trophy at Motibaug Cricket Stadium, Vadodara today. The win was powered by a spectacular century from Rydham Sharma, a crucial half-century by Basit Nazir and a destructive bowling spell by Atif Bin Mushtaq.
Electing to bat first, J&K posted a formidable 287 runs in 50 overs. Rydham Sharma displayed remarkable grit, scoring a power-packed 100 off 82 balls, hitting 10 fours and 3 sixes. Basit Nazir provided strong support with 52 runs off 65 balls, including 5 fours and 3 sixes, while Mousub Mohd Bhat added a valuable 44 runs. Goa’s Lakhmesh Pawane was the pick of their bowlers with 4 wickets, while Chittem and Kulbudin took 2 wickets each.
In response, Goa struggled to reach the target, scoring 227 runs, with Chittem (91) and Malhar Naik (51) being the main contributors. J&K’s bowling attack was led by Atif Bin Mushtaq, who claimed 4 wickets for 38 runs in 10 overs, supported by Asif Muzzafar (3 wickets), Basit Bashir (2 wickets), and Archit Mahajan (1 wicket).
