REASI, Sept 13: Rural Sports Competitions of Block Arnas under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) concluded at Chinkah, here today.
Rajesh Padha, Block Development Officer Arnas was the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony which was attended by Krishan Singh, Headmaster High School Chinkah, Nanaji Tikko ZEO Chinkah, OP Sharma, Manohar Lal and Govind Singh, ZPEOs of Reasi, Chassana and Pouni Zones respectively. Rajinder Singh Sarpanch Chinkah, Girdhari Lal, Behari Lal, Anchal Singh and Daleep Kumar were the special invitees.
The Headmaster and the staff of HS Chinkah exhibited great spirit in making this organization successful.
These Rural Sports Competitions for the students and the non-students of rural areas are being organized by the direction of Director General Youth Services and Sports through the twin Joint Directors Headquarters based at Srinagar and Jammu under the immediate supervision of the concerned DYSSOs in their respective districts.
These competitions were held under the overall supervision of Dr SS Chib, DYSSO Reasi.
The competitions were held in Athletics, Judo, Wrestling, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball for under 16 age group in whch more than 300 students and non-students took part.
The winners of the competition will participate in the District Level Inter Block Competitions which are scheduled to be held at Zorawar Sports Stadium Reasi on September 21 and 22, 2015.
The Technical experts of these competitions included Pardeep Nag, Ashok Kumar, Kuldeep Raj, Tour kumar, Romesh Chander, Pushkar Raj, Ajay Kumar Billa, Manzoor Hussain and Sukhwinder Singh.
In Kabaddi, Panchayat Chinkah drubbed Salalkot and took first spot, while Salal Kotli remained at third place.
In Kho-Kho, Chinkah Panchayat won the first place, while Arnas A and Arnas B remained at second and third place respectively.
In Volleyball, Salal Kote Panchayat outplayed Arnas A to win top slot, while Arnas B remained at the third place.
In Athletics, 100 mtrs, Pankaj Singh panchayat Salalkote remained first while Surjeet Singh and Manik of Bagli and Arnas B stood second and third respectively, while in 400 mtrs, Ankush Kumar Chinkah Pyt 1st, Pankaj Singh of Arnas A 2nd and Angrez Singh of Bagli remained 3rd in the event.
In 1500, Sanjay Kumar of Salalkote, Amit Bali of Chinkah and Paramjeet Singh of Arnas B stood 1st , 2nd and 3rd respectively, while Long Jump, Ankush Kumar, Arjun Singh and Sanjay Kumar of Chinkah, Salalkotli and Salalkote remained 1st,2nd and 3rd respectively in their events.
In Shot Put, Ankush Sharma, Arjun Singh and Paramjeet of Chinkah, Salal Kotli and Arnas Panchayats respectively remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd, while in Wrestling 46 kg, Surjeet Singh of Bagli Panchayat was the winner while Paramjeet Singh of Arnas B was the runners-up.
