UDHAMPUR, Feb 19: “Road Safety – The Time To Act Is Now”, a seminar on this theme was organized today by Happy Model Hr Sec School, Udhampur in collaboration with the office of the RTO Udhampur.
The exciting event full of variety like slogans, movie shows, presentations, yells, road safety Oath , Quiz etc was held in the Mahatma Gandi Hall of the Foundation. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana was the chief guest, while the Chief Education Officer, Udhampur and RTO Udhampur were the guests of honour.
The event started with pinning of Rossets, lighting of the ceremonial lamp to pay tributes to the founders Mother & Father. Then the chief guest and Dr Vikram Gulati jointly administered the oath of Road Safety to all the guests, teachers and students present inside the hall.
Later, the seminar on Road Safety was declared open by the chief guest.
There were 14 participants out of which 6 were awarded prizes, merit certificates and medals by the chief guest.
The prize winners of the contest included Kartikayan (1st), Mansi (2nd), Atul Sharma (3rd), Priya (4th), Suman (5th) and Kartik (6th). The event was judged by three teachers from Shivalik College of Education namely Sunita Koul , Monika Verma and Jyoti Verma.
Officer Kenney from the RTO Department conducted the Video Show and projected several films on road safety showing the need to respect the road. The films were very informative and were liked by all.
600 students participated in the show and enjoyed witnessing the Road Safety Campaign.
The School Principal, Dr Mineesh Gulati presented the vote of thanks.
