JAMMU, Jan 6: Rising Star defeated Budding Young Star by a narrow margin of 10 runs in the Jammu Budding T20 Under-16 Cricket Tournament at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Batting first, Rising Star scored a modest total of 85 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Uttrash, Tushar and Aditya contributed 17, 16 and 9 runs respectively. Sohail and Sachin took 2 wickets each for Budding Young Star, while Arun claimed one wicket.
In reply, Budding Young Star was bundled out for 75 runs in 16.4 overs. Ayush was the top scorer with 22 runs, while Arav Mahajan contributed 15 runs to the total and Ansh chipped in with 13 runs. Molik was the pick of the bowlers for Rising Star, who took 6 wickets, while Omar bagged 3 and Aprajeet took one. Molik was adjudged as man of the match for his splendid 6-wicket haul.
