Reverse tour of Sri Venkateshwara College concludes

JAMMU, June 16: The reverse tour of students of Sri Venkateshwara College, New Delhi organised by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, under Delta Force, concluded today.
On the concluding day, a friendly cricket match was held between the students and Army followed by a cultural show wherein students showcased their talent.
General Officer Commanding, Delta Force was the chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking highlighted the present situation in Jammu and Kashmir with special emphasis on Chenab Valley.
The one week tour was marked by visit of students to the schools situated in remote villages in the Khari area, interaction with local students, sarpanchs, officers from Civil Administration and Police to get first hand information of living conditions of people and prevailing environment in Jammu and Kashmir.
The students were also taken to forward posts to showcase the hardships as well as commitment of troops in maintaining peace and tranquility in the region.
The students exchanged their ideas and views and cultures with the students as well as locals.
Speaking on the occasion, the students said that this tour was highly educative and informative and such tours must be conducted regularly as these provide a unique opportunity to interact with the students and people which help them to understand their culture, life style and exchange innovative ideas and values.
