Result of online competition ‘Skills & Thrills’ declared

JAMMU, May 31: The result of the online cultural competition ‘Skills and Thrills’ conducted by Viraj Kala Kendra Jammu in the fields of dance, singing, solo play and poster making in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha J&K has been declared today.
The competition was conducted to explore the hidden talent of children of Jammu Province during the ongoing period of lockdown.
In Dance (5 to 8 years group), Manya Verma, Aarna Banotra and Sanskriti Khanna clinched first, second and third positions respectively, while in 9 to 13 years group, Mannat, Shreya Bargotra and Ashna Sharma secured first, second and third positions respectively and in 14 to 17 years group, Arunakshi Sharma, Mahi Manhas and Tanya Mehra bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In Singing (8 to 13 years group), Dhanya Sharma, Khanak Tandon and Nehra Tickoo bagged first, second and third positions respectively, while in 14 to 17 years group, Aneesa, Monika Sharma and Vansha Pandita clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In Poster Manking (8 to 13 years group), Anushka Verma, Drishti Chandel and Medhavi Lakhanpal bagged first, second and third positions respectively, while in 14 to 17 years group, Sanya Nayyar, Raisa Gupta and Nanya Devi bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In Solo Play (9 to 13 years group), Mannat and Sakshi Raina bagged first and second positions respectively, while the third position was shared by Ishu and Indira Sharma, whereas in 14 to 17 years group, Shivansh Raina, Priyanshu Bali and Ashu Rani bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
Medhavi Lakhanpal, Harshita Gupta, Saanvi Gupta,Vishav Partap Singh, Pratigya, Mannat Sharma, Ashu Rani, Ankush, Narvi Kashyap, Anushika, Anjali, Adarshika, Ritvik Gupta and Ashraya Gupta got merit certificates in different fields.
As per Raj Bharti,Chairman of Viraj Kala Kendra a total of 268 children participated in different categories and the talent of all of them was so vivid that judges have to face tough to select a few of them as winner.
Arun Manhas, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha,J&K applauded the efforts and creativity of the children which they explored in the period of lockdown.
The winners will be awarded cash awards and certificates of merit.
Rajneesh Gupta active Member of Viraj Kala Kendra said it is not important to win a race but more important is to participate in it. “Children have to indulge them in all cultural activities and always possess a sound mind in a sound body”, he added.
Sapna Soni, Kajal Suri, Surinder Manhas, Rajeshwar Singh Raju, Rajesh Raina, Pawan Verma, Rekha Sharma and Ankush Bhasin were among the jury members.
