He shared his research work, objectives, sampling, tools and findings of the study in detail. For his research, Dr. Thakur collected the data from nine districts of Himachal Pradesh with a sample of 900 B.Ed students.
His findings showed that emotional intelligence and self-concept of B.Ed students was higher than average and was not influenced by the nature of the school whether public or private, urban or rural, and the type of school-boarding or day school. There was no significant difference in emotional intelligence of B.Ed. students of Himachal Pradesh in relation to sex, socio-economic status of the family and the nature of the family whether it’s nuclear or joint.
Dr. Thakur highlighted the following implications of the study that despite the recognition of the importance of promoting emotional intelligence in schools, teacher curriculum has been slow to incorporate emotional literacy into their structure.
Dr Arun K Gupta presented presidential remarks, while Dr Nishta Rana, Assistant Professor, PG Department MIER presented vote of thanks.
