JAMMU, Jan 11: Rehbar-e-Khel teachers’ protest entered Day-23 outside BJP Headquarters Trikuta Nagar, here today.
They were staging a peaceful protest in favour of their demands such as freezing of posts in the Education Department which were recently de-freezed by LG Government, enhancement of the monthly salary and reduction of probation period from the 7year to 5 years.
The Rehbar-e-Khel teachers continued their sit-in protest to remind LG Manoj Sinha’s promise which he committed with the teachers delegation at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar on May 29, 2022.
They said that the LG’s administration has recently proposed to de-freeze the posts which were freezed for Rehbar-e-Khel teachers in the policy approved by Cabinet during their appointment in the department.
The Rehbar-e-Khel teachers Association president, Dheeraj Salaria said that nobody from the Government has come to hear their plea for which they were protesting for the last 23 days. “All the physical teachers are also doing rehearsal for the celebration of Republic Day during the protest on the ground outside BJP headquarter,” he informed.
He also recalled that the former LG GC Murmu had framed a committee to find a way to ease the sufferings of Rehbar-e-Khel teachers (reduce probation period with from 7 years to 5 years at par ReTs and enhancement in salary) but the present Government is doing injustice with us.
