Reasi outplays Doda in inaugural tie

UDHAMPUR, Sept 7: Reasi district outplayed district Doda by 25 runs in the inaugural match of the Divisional Level Inter District Cricket tournament under 14 boys, being organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports.
During the inaugural match, batting first, district Reasi scored 115 runs, which, its opponent district Doda, failed to chase and bundled out at 90 runs. Sudandit and Neeraj scored 31 runs each.
In the second match of the day, district Udhampur trounced district Samba. Batting first, district Samba scored 39 runs in allotted overs, which its opponent, chased easily in just 7 overs.
The matches were officiated by Swarandeep Singh, Raj Kumar, Parshotam Kumar, Sunil Khajuria, Rakesh Kumar and Raj Kumar.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Sukhdev Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), in presence of Bhushan Sethi, Balwan Singh, Usha Bhagat, Kulwant Singh, ZPEOs, Sanjeev Kumar and Sarabjeet Singh, from medical department.
Meanwhile, MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia announced Rs 11,000 prize money for the winning team and Rs 5,000 for runner-up team.
It is to mention here that, Deepanshu Bhat will lead the under-14 cricket team from Jammu district.
