SRINAGAR, July 29: Real Kashmir FC (R) and J&K Bank-XI scripted emphatic wins over their opponents- Downtown Hero’s FC and Lonestar KFC by two goals to one (2-1) and a solitary goal respectively in the ongoing 1st edition of Professional Football League-2021, being organised by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council at Synthetic Turf TRC Ground, here today.
The first match was played between Real Kashmir FC (R) and Downtown Hero’s FC. Right from the beginning the Real Kashmir FC tried to take the control of the game by displaying quality Football. In the 6th minute, Basit of RKFC scored a splendid goal, followed by a penalty kick in favour of RKFC and Basit of RKFC doubled the lead by scoring another goal.
After the breather, the Downtown Hero’s FC came into action and virtually dominated the field which resulted in awarding a penalty kick in their favour for rough tackling in the penalty area. Tafeem Tariq of Downtown Hero’s FC made no mistake in converting the penalty into goal. Thus RKFC defeated Downtown Hero’s FC by two goals to one (2-1). Musaib of RKFC was declared as man of the match.
The 2nd match was played between J&K Bank XI and Lonestar KFC (LKFC). LKFC was offensive right from the start of the match and they missed two to three sure shot goal chances. The challenge was well taken by J&K Bank XI and they succeeded in converting a cross into the goal in 25th minute through Aakif. In the 40th minute LKFC once again missed an open net goal. The 1st half ended with the score of 1:0 in favour of JK Bank XI.
In the 2nd half, LKFC dominated the show and went on attacking spree to level the score but had to face tough opposition from JK Bank defenders. J&K Bank also tried to double the lead but could not succeed. Thus J&K Bank won the match from LKFC by a solitary goal. Inaam of LKFC was declared as man of the match.
SCFA will face Lonestar KFC, while Shaheen FC Jammu to lock horns with Real Kashmir FC tomorrow at same venue.
