JAMMU, Feb 5: Ranjit College of Education, Jammu today organized one day State Level Seminar on “Teacher Education: Current Problems and Future Challenges” at Sensorium Hall of the College, here today.
Simrandeep Singh,Director School Education, Jammu was the chief guest in the morning session, while S Ranjit Singh, patron and Ranjit Kour, chief patron of REC were the guests of honor. Er Manmeet Singh Chairman REC, Er.Nirmal Jeet Singh, chairman KET Barnoti Kathua, Dr A.S.Singh (Addl Secretary) J&K Govt, Dr G Q.Sheikh and Dr P N Koul were also present in the presidium.
Speaking on the occasion Mr.Simrandeep complemented Chairman, Er.Manmeet Singh for organizing this seminar on the much needed and important issues related to the Teacher Education Problems and Challenges which are being faced since times immemorial.
The need is to shift to latest teaching aids and techniques as an adjunct to impart Education to overhaul the existing Educational system, he said.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Er.Manmeet Singh laid emphasis on moral values and said that truth is a moral concept which must be taught or imposed but a lie is more spontaneous thought.
Prof G Q Sheikh in his address said that Education is “Be All and end All of a society”.
Dilbag Singh ADGP J&K Police was the chief guest in the evening session who appreciated management and the other stakeholders for choosing such a touching topic which needs deliberations so that the outcome becomes a guideline to follow for redefining our educational system.
More than 60 speakers from different colleges presented their paper on the different sub themes in the state level seminar which was followed by discussions and the brief summaries as an outcome of three different technical sessions were presented by Prof. Madhu Singh, Principal Khalsa College of Education followed by Prof P N Koul, Principal Swami Gang Dev College of Education and Prof Jha, Principal Lal Bhadhur College Of Education, Kathua.
The vote of thanks was presented by Er Manmeet Singh.
