KATHUA, Apr 15: RCC Kathua crushed Stadium XI Seniors Kathua by 3 wickets and sailed into the semifinal round of the ongoing Tawi Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Tawi Organizing Committee in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) at sport stadium, here today.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss, Stadium XI Seniors Kathua chipped in 106 runs for all out in 19.1 overs. Nishant was the top scorer with 21 runs including 2 boundaries, while Himanshu also contributed important 21 runs with 3 balls towards the fence. Radhey Sham also showed his batting talent and chipped in 20 runs in just 18 balls with the help of three boundaries.
Amit of RCC Kathua was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets by conceding 24 runs in his 4 overs spell. Vishu also scalped 2 wickets by giving 26 runs in his 3.1 overs.
In the second inning, RCC Kathua played well and chased the target in 19 overs by loosing seven wickets. Tonu scored 40 runs in 44 balls including 7 crispy boundaries, whereas Amit chipped in 19 runs in 22 balls with the help of three boundaries.
For Stadium XI Senior, Kaka and Shiv Dutt scalped 2 wickets each in their 4 overs spell.
Tonu of RCC Kathua was declared as man of the match for his outstanding performance and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 500 and a trophy by Rattan Bharti, Vice President, Tawi Organizing Committee, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
The match was officiated by Mohan Lal and Ram as umpires, while KV Singh maintained the scorecard.
