Rasool slams ton as match hangs in balance

NEW DELHI, Nov 30:
J&K skipper Parvez Rasool slammed a swashbuckling ton (115) as Jammu and Kashmir set a target of 104 runs for Services at Palam cricket ground here today.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 115/6, J&K managed to score 262 runs, courtesy Rasool’s century and valuable knocks of 26 and 30 runs by Amir Aziz and Waseem Raza. Thus, J&K set a target of 104 runs for the rivals.
Services in second essay were struggling at 67/5, needing 38 more runs to win with 5 wickets in hand. Rajat Palliwal 16 and Vikas (0) were at the crease when the stumps were drawn today.
For J&K, Parveez Rasool and Mohammed Mudasar took 2 wickets each while Amir Aziz claimed 1 wicket.
With today’s innings Parvez Rasool completed 4000 runs in first class cricket and became 4th player in the country to claim 8 wicket haul and a hundred in a first class match.
Seeing the nature of the wicket and rhythm of J&K bowlers one gets the feeling that it will not be a cake walk for the Services batsman to get the required runs on day 4 of the match rather it will be an uphill task. (PTI)
