Ranjeet Kalra flags off J&K Physically Challenged team

JAMMU, Apr 18: Ranjeet Kalra, Vice Chairman Jammu Sports Council flagged off J&K Physically Challenged Cricket Team for participation in the National Tournament to be held at Rohtak in Haryana.
During flag off ceremony, Mr Kalra was accompanied by Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and Coordinator of the team, Rajesh Dhar, Sports Columnist and Working Committee Member JKCA, Vijay Sharma, Secretary Patel Cricket Club, Rajinder Sharma, Cricket Coach, Madan Mohan, Sachin and Charanjeev Singh.
On the occasion, Rajesh Gill apprised the chief guest that specially-abled cricket team of J&K is regularly playing cricket and participating in the national level tournaments from a couple of years with full support of J&K Police.
He said that last year Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu had organized coaching cum selection camp at Jammu for the selection of Indian team and in the selection camp one player of J&K got selected to represent India against Afghanistan in 3-Match Friendship Series. He further said that Colour uniforms and cricket gear which included keeping gloves and batting gloves were sponsored by Dr SD Singh, IGP Jammu.
Mr Kalra while speaking on the occasion appreciated the Zonal Police Jammu and Coordinator Rajesh Gill for regularly conducting and supporting the J&K physically challenged Cricket team.
While greeting Jagmohan for representing the Country, Mr Kalra assured all help from Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council.
The Team: Syed Shah Aziz (Poonch)- Captain, Nadeem Bhat (Reasi), Jagmohan (Reasi)-Vice Captain, Rajesh Kumar (Kathua), Ranjeet Singh (Reasi), Vishnu Partap Singh (Akhnoor), Shahid Iqbal (Poonch), Mohd Younus (Srinagar), Akhlak Ahmed (Poonch), Irfakat Ali (Poonch), Rahul Sharma (Akhnoor), Deepak Sharma (Akhnoor), Firdose (Kishtwar) and Vivek Sharma (Rajouri).
The team is being accompanied by Sham Singh Langeh as manager and Arun Kumar as Coach.
