Dogra College of Education organises 23rd Annual Sports Meet

JAMMU, Apr 18: Three days sports meet was inaugurated by Dogra College of Education with zeal and zest in the College premises, here today.
The programme started with the lighting of traditional lamp followed by the welcome address by Anuradha Sharma, Convener of the Sports Committee.
The sports meet was graced by Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, Mubarak Singh, Director Administration and Campus Development, Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal Dogra College of Education Dogra Educational Trust, Prof VP Magotra, Principal Dogra Law College and Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College.
Kr Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust in his address stressed that apart from imparting academic knowledge to the students, various physical activities must also be encouraged for their overall development.
Mubarak Singh, Director Administration and Campus Development said that sports could play a major role in promoting and propagating peace with an understanding of the spirit of global participation and philosophy of sports.
During the inaugural ceremony few exhibition matches and races were held in Kho-Kho, 50 Mtrs Race, 100 Mtrs Race, Spoon Race, Thread Needle Race and Tug of War.
The programme was anchored by Pallvi Sharma and Divyanshu Sharma of IV Semester.
The vote of thanks was presented by Jyoti Raina, Lecturer in Environmental Science.
