JAMMU, May 26: Rangers United Cricket Club defeated Media XI by 7 wickets at GGM Science College Hostel ground, while Friends Cricket Club Nagri got the beter of United XI Billawar by 5 wickets at Police Lines Kathua in the ongoing JKCA District Level Cricket Tournament, being held under the patronage of Justice CK Prasad, Administrator JKCA; Chairmanship of Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, CEO JKCA and under the supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission and Member JKCA.
At Jammu, wining the toss and batting first, Media XI scored 159 runs in 36 overs. Sunil Bali top scored with 39 runs, while Raju, Vivek Suri and Dev Thakur contributed 38, 35 and 17 runs to the total respectively. For Rangers United, Musaif took 4 wickets, while Sahil Lotra bagged 2. Arjun Chowdhary, Vicky Raina and Anmol Bhan claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Rangers United chased the target easily by losing 3 wickets to win the match by 7 wickets. Sidharth top scored with unbeaten 55 runs, while Hisham Saleem, Abhishant Bakshi and Musaif Ajaz contributed 40, 31 and 19 runs to the total respectively. For Media XI, Yash, Raju and Sunil Bali took 1 wicket each. Musaif Ajaz was declared as the man of the match.
AT Kathua, United XI Billawar scored 170 runs in 32.1 overs. Bahabnesh Singh and Bharat scored 33 and 30 runs respectively. From Friends Cricket Club Nagri, Lucky was the wrecker-in-chief who took 6 important wickets, while Shubham Verma claimed 3 wickets.
Friends CC Nagri chased the target in 23.1 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Lucky top scored with 43 runs while Raghav contributed 40 runs to the total. Yuvraj took 3 wickets for United XI Billawar. Lucky was adjudged as the man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Vinod, Dayal Singh, Vijay Raina, Jitender and Mohan Singh.
