Rajkumar helps JU thrash Ajmer Board by 139 runs

JAMMU, Nov 28: Splendid all-round display by former Ranji Trophy Cricketer, Rajkumar Bakshi and overall team effort helped Jammu University (JU) to thrash Ajmer Board by a huge margin of 139 runs in a one-sided contest of the ongoing All India Vice Chancellors T20 Cricket Cup at Mumbai, today.
Earlier, batting first, University of Jammu riding on superb batting show by Rajkumar and Akash Bhola scored a mammoth total of 205 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Rajkumar was the top scorer with unbeaten 64 runs, while Akash contributed valuable 41 runs to the total. Ameet Targotra, Vishal and Daud Iqbal scored 26, 25 and 24 runs respectively. For Ajmer Board, Rajesh scalped 2 wickets, while Harsh claimed one.
In reply, Ajmer Board bundled out for a paltry total of 66 runs in 16.2 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 139 runs. Shailender and Vinod Kumar were the main contributors with 17 and 15 runs respectively. For JU, Rajkumar, Sandeep, Pawan and Daud Iqbal bagged 2 wickets each by conceding 8, 9, 10 and 14 runs to the total respectively. Niranjan and Abhinav also claimed one wicket each. For his brilliant batting and bowling performances, Rajkumar Bakshi was declared man of the match.
