Rahul continues fabulous show in JU’s ‘Display Your Talent’

JAMMU, Sept 27: Rendering of Ghazal ‘Usne Meri Wafa Ka Accha Sila Diya’ by Rahul Kumar from Government College for Women, Parade, Jammu in his mellifluous voice, fetched him first place in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate/Departmental Light Vocal (Solo) Competition, conducted by the Department of Students Welfare, under the ‘Display Your Talent 2012-13’, here.
Apoorva  Jamwal from Department of Economics, University of Jammu, mesmerized the audience with her Ghazal ‘Jab Apni Saans Hi Dar-Parda Hum Pe Vaar Kare, Toh Phir Jahan Mein Koi Kis Pe Aitbaar Kare’ and bagged the second prize, while Vishwa Gandharv from Government MAM College, Jammu presented another beautiful Ghazal ‘Woh   Jo Aankh Chura Kar Nikal Gaya, Dil Ko Dukha Kar Nikal Gaya’ and was adjudged winner of third place.
The Certificates of Merit were awarded to Aaditya Bhanu from Government SPMR College of Commerce, Meet Kaur from GCW, Parade and Diksha Kumari from Govt. Women College, Gandhi Nagar.
Prizes were distributed by Prof Jasbir Singh, Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee and Prof N K Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare.
The participants presented, Hindi, Punjabi Geet, Ghazals, Folk Songs, Bhajan and Shabad etc.
Prithivi Raj Sharma, Sham Sajan and Balbir Beera, were the adjudicators for the said event.
The competition was conducted under the supervision of Dr Sunita Sharma, the Teacher Incharge, of the Light Vocal (Solo) event.
The programme was compered by Divya Mahajan, Joint Secretary, SCC whereas S.S. Bhalla acted as the Time Keeper.
Among others Dr Sanjay Sharma, Dr Deepika Slathia, Teachers Incharge and Students,  were also present.
