PAHALGAM, May 20: In continuation with the Kashmir Tourism Festival-2013, Department of Tourism, Kashmir organized White Water Rafting competition at the world famous tourist resort Pahalgam here today.
As many as, 6 clubs and about 30 local persons participated in the said competition besides 18 international river guides from Nepal and 18 assistant local guides also took part in the competition.
Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority, Nisar Hussain flagged off the White Water Rafting event at Pahalgam.
Among others, officers of Tourism department, office bearers of Rafting Association Kashmir and large number of tourists were also present on the occasion.
South Kashmir Rafting Club bagged the Ist position while Srinagar Rafting Club and Yaner Rafting Club bagged the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in the competition.
