JAMMU, Mar 14: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu organized a literary event at K L Saigal Hall of Cultural Academy, wherein a Punjabi Plays book titled ‘Apna Ghar Apni Zameen’ written by Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik was released.
Raman Bhalla, former Minister was the chief guest, while Dr Lalit Magotra, Convener Dogri in Sahitya Akademi and a well known writer was the guest of honour and Ali Adalat, a well known Pahari writer presided over the function.
Dr. Baljit Raina, general secretary, Punjabi Lekhak Sabha extended a welcome to the guests and the audience. Speaking on this occasion he said that the Sabha is committed for the promotion and development of Punjabi language.
He said that the books written by Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik particularly the plays have made a name for him.
Papers were read out by Kanwal Kashmiri and Dr. Manojit, well known Punjabi writers, while Dr Monojit expressed his views on the techniques and devices used by the writer in developing the play out of mere short story of Dr. Baljit Raina and the poem written by the writer himself.
Dr Lalit Magotra appreciated the papers read on this occasion.
In his address,Raman Bhalla appreciated the efforts being made by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha in contributing in the field of Punjabi literature. He said that the Punjabi Bhavan being developed under the aegis of PLS will be a prestigious asset to the writers of this region.
A large number of intellectuals, writers, artists, theatre and film personalities attended the event.
