JAMMU, Dec 10: A curtain raiser to showcase “Pir Panjal Knights Premier League” a unique sporting event, was organized at Nagrota, here today. The display of banners, trophies and logo commemorated the jubilation of organizers as well as participating youth in conduct of the event.
The Premier League Phase I ensured maximum participation of youth including girls at Tehsil level. The response can be judged from this fact that 64 cricket teams and 48 kho-kho teams participated.
The Phase II of this Premier League is scheduled from December 12 to December 18 at Zorawar Singh Stadium, Reasi.
Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Reasi, Poonch, Rajouri and Akhnoor are fielding their teams. A total of eight kho-kho and cricket teams are participating.
The tournament (Cricket & Kho-Kho) will run for seven days with knockouts on December 12 and 13, while the semifinals will be played on December15 and 16 and the finals on December 18, 2014.
The organizers have appealed the people to witness this unique sports event at “Zorawar Singh Stadium Reasi”.
