PPCPL: Convincing victories by MS Stars, Count Fitness Hurricanes

JAMMU, Aug 28: MS Stars and Count & Fitness Hurricanes scripted emphatic victories over their rivals in the ongoing Police Public Cricket Premier League, being organized under the Chairmanship of Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IGP Jammu at KC Sports Club, here.
Earlier, in the first match, MS Stars defeated Elite Tiger by 3 runs in an exciting contest.
Batting first, MS Stars scored 101 runs s in 20 overs. Achintaya top scored with 47 runs, while Sukhmaan 17 runs were the main scorers. From Elite Tigers, Amaan Ali took 4 wickets and Anmol Riana claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, Elite Tigers fell short of just 3 runs, needing 4 runs to win on the last ball of the match.
Ravi Partap Singh from Nepal top scored with 27 runs with two sixes, while Kannav and Anmol Raina contributed 11 runs each, thus MS Stars won the match by 3 runs. From MS Stars, Agastaya Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, who took 6 wickets, while Uttkarsh took 2 wickets. Augustya was declared as the man of the match with a cash prize of Rs 2000 sponsored by ACC Cements.
In another match, Count Fitness Hurricanes defeated Horizon Kings in a close contest by 1 wicket.
Batting first, Horizon Kings scored 93 runs in 20 overs. Arnav Gupta scored 25 runs, while Prayas and Abhinav Pandey contributed 18 and 16 runs respectively. From Count & Fitness, Amit Jha took 2 wickets, while Rahul, Kartik, Hunzala and Arin Sharma took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Count Fitness Hurricanes chased the target in 19.4 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Amit Jha scored 37 runs, while Nishank and Arin contributed 13 runs each runs. From Horizon Kings, Abhnav Pandey and Prayas took 3 wickets each, while Harjeet claimed 1 wicket. Amit Jha from Nagpur was declared as the man of the match with a cash prize of Rs 2000.
In todays’ matches former skipper J&K Ranji Trophy, Kavaljeet Singh and Arjun Chowdhary, MD KC Sports were the chief guests who distributed the man of the match awards among the players and also shared their experiences with the participating players.

The matches were officiated by Amit Gupta, Sadiq Hussain, Saleem Ur Rehman, Ashok Kumar and Sanju.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Wheeelocity Vishal Bulls will take on MS Stars at 9 am and Count Fitness Hurricanes will take on Vriddhi Royals at 1.30 pm.
