Taekwondo C’ship concludes

POONCH, Nov 25: Third Poonch District Taekwondo Championship, organized by Poonch District Taekwondo Association under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association (JKTA) and supported by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, concluded, here today.
About 250 young players from Poonch district including players of five Clubs participated in the mega event wherein Poonch Taekwondo Academy emerged as overall champion of the tournament while Kuniyian Taekwondo Club clinched runner-up position.
Rabia Anjum, Prakriti Sharma and Mansha Dabour were declared as best players of the championship in sub-junior, cadet and junior girls categories respectively while Mohd Arhaan and Aasan-ul-Haq were declared as best players in boys category and Ashaq was adjudged as best referee of the championship.
Mohd Arhaan, Rananjay, Krishna Tayyeb, Sparsh, Ghulam Murtaza, Rayan, Garvin Gupta, Siddanth Raina, Mudabir Ayaz, Rehan Manmeet Singh, Mohd Ateeq, Vishnu Raina, Danish Khan, Vishvas, Akarshit, Sohaim Khan, Khalida Jabeen, Prakriti, Japleen, Huriya, Sumiya, Aaira, Mansha Dabur, Suzain Hafza, Deepanshi, Adeeba and Sumiya Shahneen were succeeded to win Gold medals whereas Ganeev, Uzma, Umm-UL-Baneen, Bushra Khatun, Anureet Kour, Anaya Batool, Manpreet, Jessica Singh, Eliza, Chanderdeep, Kanav, Abhimanyu Sharma, Yasir Iqbal, Ramanpreet Singh, Bashrat, Samardeep, Amanpreet Singh, Anees Mehmood, Raghav Suri and Furkhan-ul-Haq won Silver medals.
Senior Superintendent of Police Ramesh Angral was the chief guest while Janghir Mir Ex-Chairman of Legislative Council, DySP DAR Sachin Gupta, DYSSO Poonch Mohd Qasim, DySP MA Qureshi and Surinder Singh ZPEO Kuniyian were the guest of honours.
Prof Jasbir Singh Principal GDC Surankote, Er Saleem Bandey gen secretary District TT Association, Prof Dr Tabussam, Diya Raiz Naz, Prof Fateh Mohd Abassi, Abhinav Dabour JE PDD, Pawan Kumar Lecturer, Pravaiz Malik were the special guests of the occasion.
Earlier, Rajinder Singh, National Referee presented a brief note on the activities and achievements of the Association whereas, Makhan Lal Bhaglal president of the Association LG Manoj Sinha and Secretary Sports Council Dr Naseem Javid Choudhary for constructing Indoor Hall Complex here.
The chief guest congratulated the Association for providing a platform to budding players.
The function was presided over by Vijay Kumar (PEM) while vote of thanks was presented by ML Bhaglal president PDTA.
