Poonch school produces 19 national-level players for NSG

JAMMU, Apr 30: Shaheed DySP Manjeet Singh Memorial Model Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch has brought laurels to the region by producing 19 national-level players for the 69th National School Games 2025–26, reaffirming its commitment to sports excellence.
In boxing, the selected players are Ehsan-ul-Haq, Krishna Raina, Mudassar Ahmed, Shahid Ahmed, Sajid Ajaz, and Mohammad Yasir. In athletics, Iffraz Ahmed Chaudhary, Nazakat Hussain, Sarfaraz Ahmed Chaudhary, and Shoaib Younis have qualified at the national level.
Kafeel Chaudhary represented in taekwondo, while Rehan Parwez excelled in volleyball. The hockey team includes Rameez Ahmed, Mohammad Sameer, Kamran Chaudhary, Rahees Ahmed, and Ramanjot Singh. Madhav Sharma competed in handball, and Naveed Ahmed in badminton.
Principal Rupinder Kour appreciated the achievers and lauded the dedicated efforts of the Physical Education Department in grooming young athletes. The Physical Education team, including Pawan Kumar, Sarla Bakshi, and Harmik Singh, played a vital role in mentoring and guiding the players.
