POONCH, Feb 15: With an aim to accomplish the mission of J&K Police for channelizing the energy of youth and providing platform to the youth of the district, District Police Poonch today organized ‘Chhoona Hai Aasman’- Season-V Talent Hunt Show at Govt Degree College, here today.
Thirty eight candidates from the district participated in the finale in which 12 artists were selected for Range Level Competition. This year the contest was organized for the event of solo singing only. Deputy Commissioner Poonch, MH Malik was the chief guest whereas Brig NS Brar, Commander 93 Inf. Bdg was guest of honour.
Among those present on the occasion were Padam Shree Shambu Nath Khajuria, Basharat Hussain-ACD Poonch, Principal GDC S Tejinder Singh, Mumtaz Bhatti CMO Poonch, Taj Mir, KD Maini, Reyaz Ahmed Tantray-DySP Surankote, Mujeeb –Ur-Rehman-DySP Hqrs. Poonch, Sheezan Bhat-DySP (Ops) Poonch, Sagar Singh-DySP Chakan-da-Bagh, Jatinder Raina-Inspector SHO PS Poonch and Makhan Lal.
In the senior category (male), Ahsan Asgar, Trishan Kartar and Ibrar Rather of Poonch were adjudged as 1st , 2nd and third respectively, whereas in the female senior category, Simran Jaideep Kour, student of GDC Poonch, Rasmeet Kour of Degwar and Faiza Tabasum Bhat of GDC Surankote claimed 1st, 2nd and third respectively. In junior male category, Danish Khursheed, student of Christ School Poonch, Mohd Toheed of MS Kamsar Poonch and Raksham Sharma (Christ School Poonch) were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and third respectively, while in junior female category, Shabnam Naaz of Govt. GHS Mandi, Aisha Kabir (GHSS Surankote) and Tehmina Javed of Zia-Ul-Uloom Poonch were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and third respectively.
Cash rewards were also given to winner and runner ups on the basis of their presentation judged by a panel of jury which including retired Prof Vinay Mohan Misri, Usha Puri, retired Lecturer, Bachan Lal Bhagat, In-charge Station Director AIR Poonch, Tariq Ashraf, senior artist Surankote and Ishrat Bhat, senior artist Mandi. All the participants were also given certificate of participation.
SSP Poonch Jatinder Singh Johar elaborated in detail regarding the purpose of organizing such talent hunt programmes by J&K Police in order to give platform to the hidden talent in our states besides providing opportunity and platform to the younger generation for showcasing their talent..
Deputy Commissioner Poonch and Brigadier 93 Infantry Brigade also spoke and encouraged the participants and gathering.
