Poonch, Jammu Red, Baramulla, Kathua script wins

JAMMU, Feb 11: In the ongoing Hockey J&K UT Championship 2020, Poonch, Jammu Red, Baramulla and Kathua scripted wins over Srinagar, Rajouri, Budgam and Shopian respectively.
The championship(Men) is being organized by Hockey J&K and sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium here and the championship would be concluded on February 14. The motto of the tourney is ‘Say No To Banned Drugs And Substances ‘.
The first match of the day was inaugurated by SP Jammu South, Viney Kumar while Baldev Singh Billoria, Chairman of Health and Sanitation committee, JMC was the chief guest of the today’s last match.
In first match, Poonch defeated Srinagar by 9 goals to 0 with Matinder Pal Singh scored first goal in 6th minute, Ravneet Singh scored 3 goals in 13th, 14th, and 25th minutes, Sanjiv Kumar scored 3 goals in 21th, 22th and 55th minutes while Navjot Singh scored 2 goal in 38th and 57th minutes of the game for Poonch but its opponent team (Srinagar) failed to open account.
In 2nd pool match, Jammu Red outplayed Rajouri with a margin of 7 goals to 0 wherein Ankush scored hatrick for Jammu by scoring 4 goals in 9th, 20th, 21st minutes and 49th minutes while Aniket scored goal in 23rd minutes, Shivaye scored goals in 45th minutes and Vansh scored goal in 47th minute for Jammu Red.
In 3rd match, Baramulla trounced Budgam by 15 goal to 0 in which Mohd Shahid scored 9 goals in 3rd, 5th, 21st, 40th, 45th, 47th and 5th minutes of the game, Manat Preet Singh scored 3 goals in 11th, 35th and 44th minutes while Pavneet Singh scored goal in 41st and 47th minutes, Parvez Ahmed Bhat scored goals in 49th minutes and Ramandeep Singh scored in 53rd minute for Baramulla.
In the last match, Kathua defeated Shopian in close contest by a margin of 3 goals to 1, first goal of the match was scored by Imtyaz for Shopian. Ikvinder Singh scored equalizer for Kathua while Harjot Singh scored 2 goals in 28th and 58th minutes of the game for Kathua.
