Poonch, Nov 24: Tehsil Mandi won the Poonch inter tehsil cricket league tournament 2017, organised by 39 Rashtriya Riffles at Jhullas ground, here.
In the summit clash, Mandi beat Tehsil Haveli by 4 wickets.
Batting first, Haveli scored 110 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 15 overs.
Tehsil Mandi chased the target in 14.5 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process.
For Haveli, Gagandeep and Regual scored 28 and 20 runs respectively, while for Mandi Sarfaraz and Meesum scored 50 and 20 runs respectively. For Mandi, Sarfaraz and Wiqar took 2 wickets each, while for Haveli Shaban and Rustum took 2 wickets each. Sarfaraz of Mandi was adjudged as the man of match, while Shaban of Haveli was declared as the best bowler and Sarfaraz was declared as the best batsmen of the tournament.
Principal, Govt Degree College Poonch, MH Shah was the chief guest on the occasion, while other dignitaries present were CO 39 RR Col RJ Naryan, Maj Mukesh Kumar 2 IC 39 RR, Vijay Kumar, Rajinder Singh Toofan and Pawan Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest appreciated the effort of 39 RR for organising such mega event in border village and for channelising the energy of youth in right direction.
Later he distributed prizes and trophies among the winners and runners-up teams on the occasion.
The matches were officiated by technical panel of Rajinder Singh Toofan, Sanjay Misri, Pawan Kumar,Vikas Sharma, Rajneesh Maini,DK Raina, Parvez Ahmed and Harmik Singh.
The Tournament was coordinated under technical supervision of Vijay Kumar (PEM) and Pawan Kumar (Strength and Condition coach BCCI, NCA and JKCA).
