REASI, Dec 18: Police-XI defeated NHPC in the inaugural tie of the T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by District Police under Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Sports Stadium, here today.
Police-XI registered win over NHPC by 8 wickets and advanced to the next stage of the tournament.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Ravinder Kumar, DC Reasi.
While speaking, DC said that such events not only help in inculcating sports culture among the youth but also paves way for improving police-public relation. Underlining the importance of such events, he said that imbibing the sports culture in youth will wean them away from mobile and video games culture which adversely affect the health of the youth.
Tahir Bhat, SSP Reasi, Sanjay Singh Rana, Additional SP Reasi, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, DySP Headquarters Reasi, SHO Reasi Kuldeep Krishan, CO CISF, CO 61 RR, Tehsildar Reasi and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
