JAMMU, Dec 28: Jammu and Kashmir Police Public School Miran Sahib, celebrated its Annual day at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground here today. Kuldeep Khoda, IPS, former DGP, J&K was the chief Guest and Dilbag Singh was the Guest of Honour.
The function was attended by ADGPS B. Srinivas, Deepak Kumar M. Sulaiman Salaria, SJM Gillani, A.G Mir Dr. Indu Kaul Khoda, former Chairperson J&K PWWA/PPS, Dr. Rubinder Kaur, Chairperson (PWWA/PPS), IGPs Mukesh Singh, Danesh Rana, Alok Kumar, Anand Jain, senior PWWA members and a galaxy of senior serving and retired police officers. Besides, parents, staff members, students of School were present on the occasion.
Kuldeep Khoda appreciated the school management for rendering valuable services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir by providing quality education to the youth and enabling them to make successful careers in various walks of life.
He congratulated the students for performing the spectacular colourful programme, and said that the performance was with a powerful message of diversity of our country and unity in that diversity.
While citing the examples of Thomas Alva Edison and the role of her mother, Khoda said that Competition is good but school grades do no decide our success or failure. The teachers need to identify the special interests and qualities of the student and try to explore them. The parents and teachers need to understand the limited role of academic achievements and try to hone talents of their wards/students, he said. He said that we need to develop the good qualities of the students so that they become good human being and added that nothing matters the most but how much satisfied we are with our work. He advised the students to chase the knowledge with passion, and excellence will follow.
The students presented a colourful programme titled “Kabuliwala, a festival of India”, which is based on short story of Rabindra Nath Tagore. The students of different classes presented songs of Kashmir, Jammu, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal alongwith melodious Hindi films songs, weaved into the story of the Kabuliwala. The performance of the all the student artists mesmerized the audience, who appreciated it with many rounds of applause.
Earlier, Literary Captain, Ms. Anchal Sharma welcomed the chief guest, guest of honour, PWWA members, school management and parents for gracing the occasion.
The Head Boy Nikhil Saini and Head Girl Vaishali Sharma presented the annual report through a power point presentation. They highlighted the achievements of the school in different fields, academic as well as extra curricular.
On the occasion prize distribution function was held in which the student achievers of the school were felicitated. The prize distribution function was conducted by Sports Captain Aman Sharma, and Cultural Captain Mehak Sharma.
The vote of thanks was presented by Mona Thakur.
