Police Martyrs T-20 tourney inaugurated

POONCH, Dec 16: District Police organised Martyr’s Memorial T-20 Cricket tournament under ‘Civic Action Program’, which was declared open by SSP Rohit Baskotra, here today.
The SSP was accompanied by Additional SP Mushim Ahmed, SP DAR Sachin Gupta, DySP Ops Manish Sharma, and DySP Hqrs Nawaz Ahmed along with Advocate Sanjay Raina, DEPO Narinder Suri and Bashir Ahmed In-charge Sport Stadium Poonch.
Nazir Charak (Retd DYSSO), Narinder Singh ZPEO, Pawan Kumar and Pervaiz Ahmad Afridi and several other dignitaries graced the occasion.
PSI Rahul Angral conducted the event’s proceedings.
The SSP in his address appraised that the tournament is being organised in the memory of Police martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duties. He also said that these events are being organised on the directions of DGP Dilbagh Singh IPS and ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh IPS and DIG Rajouri Poonch Range Dr Haseeb Mughal.
“The efforts are being made to keep the youth away from drug menace as well as ill effects of social media,” he said and stressed upon the youth in general and players in particular to put their energy in the right direction either in education or sports activities.About 48 teams from different areas of the district are participating in the tournament.
