Shafi-XI Parigam lifts title trophy

SRINAGAR, Nov 13: Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police under its Civic Action Programme concluded at Pulwama, today.
The final match was played between Shafi-XI Parigam and MCC Kakpora in which Shafi-XI Parigam emerged as the winners. Soliyah Khan was declared as Man of the Match while Irshad Ahmad Dar, Sameer Ahmad and Soliyah Khan were declared outstanding performers of the event.
About 24 players were selected from the event to participate in upcoming Range level tournament.
Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh was the chief guest on the prize distribution ceremony. The DGP congratulated the winning and runner up teams and said that J&K Police is committed to give a boost to the sports and other youth development activities in the J&K. He said that sports activities are important for personality development, positivity and keep the individual away from the negative thoughts.
The DGP said the sports spread the message of peace and strengthens the bond of brotherhood.
Dilbag said that it has been efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Police to bring some positivity among the youth after the stressful period of COVID-19. The DGP said that it has always remained our policy to get back our youth who on the instigation of the Pakistan sponsored elements get involved in anti-national activities.
SSP Pulwama thanked the DGP for gracing the ceremony and briefed about the initiatives taken by District Police Pulwama in engaging youth in positive activities and providing them a platform to showcase their talent.
IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, DIG SKR Atul Kumar Goel, DC Pulwama Raghav Langer, SP Pulwama Ashish Mishra and other senior civil and police officers were also present during the event.
