JAMMU, Oct 3: The event of Poetry Recitation was conducted today at ‘Display Your Talent-2017-18’ organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof Satnam Kour, Prof SK Pandita, Chairman Campus Cultural Committee alongwith the judges of the event felicitated the winners.
In Poetry Recitation, 60 students participated who recited various self-written and other poems which have been written by eminent poets and scholars. The First prize was won by Nitika Abrol from GCW, Parade, Seerat Baji from GCW Gandhi Nagar got the Second prize and the Third position was secured by Upasana Nanda from GDC Basholi.
The Certificates of Merit were awarded to Rohan Sharma from SPMR College of Commerce and Rajan Singh from Govt. MAM College.
Vidya Ratan Aasi, Vijaya Thakur and Aruna Sharma were the Judges of the event.
The highlight of the event was the recitation of self-written poetry by the eminent judges especially by Vidya Ratan Aasi which mesmerized one and all present in the auditorium who got amazed by the depth and height of the writings of the legendry poet of the State.
The event was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor) Manreet Kour, Anjali Sharma, Payal, Pallvi Kunwer, Diksha Andotra, Mohit Mahajan, Sona Sharma, Shivika Thakur and Divya Sharma did the Hall Management. The sound was operated by Kulbhushan Thakur.
