JAMMU, Feb 20: J&K Youth Congress Chief, Uday Chib today flagged off eight players for the Khelo India University Games 2020 competition, which is scheduled to be held on Odisha.
While interacting with players, Chib expressed confidence that all the players of Jammu would bring laurels to the J&K through good performance in the international arena. He felicitated them for their selection in the Khelo India University Games 2020.
Chib, while applauding them for their participation, asked youth especially those taking part in sports to take a cue from their career and bring laurels to J&K and the country.
“It is now the duty of those sitting at the helm of sporting field to harness the energy of sportspersons in right perspective to achieve remarkable results and ensure that the sporting talent of Jammu and Kashmir is streamlined and no one in this field feels disgusted or disappointed,” he said.
Chib said that Jammu and Kashmir has no dearth of talent but there is dire need for identifying and providing best available coaching to them so that they find their rightful place in the national and international events. He extended best wishes to the players and their coaches and hoped that they will give their best in the national level competition and will become a role model for others.
Coaches Anthony, Jai Bharat and P.D Singh are accompanying the players for the upcoming national level competition.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were included Avijyot Singh, General Secretary JKPYC and Jagjyot Singh, Chairman JKPYC Sports Cell.
