PK Badminton Premier League Season 1 concludes

JAMMU, May 4: The Panun Kashmir Badminton Premier League Season 1 concluded today at Badminton Park, Lane 12, Jagti Genocide Survivor Camp, after three days of intense matches under the theme “Yes to Sports, No to Drugs.”
The valedictory ceremony was attended by Dr Agnishekhar, Convenor, Panun Kashmir, as chief guest, and Tito Ganju, Chairman, Panun Kashmir, as guest of honour. Special guests included Leninji Bhat, Bebooji Zutshi, Bhushan Lal Bhat, and Bitooji Bhat. The event was organised by Akshay Garoo, Coordinator, Panun Kashmir Yuva.
In the Under-14 boys doubles category, Lavish and Purav were declared winners, while Shaswat and Rajveer finished as runners-up. In the Under-16 boys doubles, Sumit and Kartik clinched the title, defeating Divit and Aarnav, who were runners-up.
In the Under-18 men’s category, Anmol and Jitesh emerged winners, while Hitesh and Tejas secured runners-up position. In the women’s open category, Muskaan Matta and Sanvi Pandita won the title, while Priya and Yashika were runners-up.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Agnishekhar described the participants as the future of Panun Kashmir and stressed the importance of discipline and sports in building a strong community. Tito Ganju encouraged youth to adopt sports as a way of life, calling it a symbol of strength and unity.
The tournament saw enthusiastic participation across age groups, promoting a drug-free lifestyle and community bonding. Organisers said the successful first season lays the foundation for an expanded edition in the future.
