Phy Edu Deptt wins JU’s Inter-Departmental Cricket title

JAMMU, May 25: Outplaying Physics Department by a narrow margin of 11 runs, Physical Education Department lifted the title trophy of the Inter-Departmental Cricket Tournament, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, under the overall supervision of its Director Daud Iqbal at Varsity grounds, here.
Prof RD Sharma was the chief guest in the concluding function and distributed prizes among the winners on the occasion.
Earlier, batting first, Physical Education Department scored 105 runs in 12 overs. Sajid top scored with 49 runs, while Jeevan, Akram and Gourav contributed 23, 15 and 11 runs respectively. For Physics Department, Ajay, Sushil and Munib claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Physics Department managed to score 94 runs in 12 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus lost the match by 11 runs. Aman top scored with 56 runs. Jeevan took 3 important wickets for Physical Education Department, while Sanjeev and Akram claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Vijay Kumar, Sadiq Hussain, Aman Singh and Raj Kumar Bakshi.
