JAMMU, Nov 23: Peepal Tree School, Lower Roop Nagar, organized a Fancy Dress Competition cum Grandparents Day today.
The tiny tots from play way to 2nd standard participated in the competition. The kids from play group were dressed in different fruits and vegetables. Students from L.K.G and U.K.G participated in the dance show with the costumes depicting diversity of cultures in India.
1st and 2nd standard kids were representing themselves in different professions as Doctor, Pilot, Policeman, Postman and Politician etc.
The children were dressed in colourful dresses for each theme and spoke a few lines on the character that they depicted.
The purpose of conducting the competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the little ones by giving them an opportunity to get on the stage and speak in front of an audience. The judges praised the kids for their efforts and wonderful costumes. Winners and all the participants were encouraged by giving prizes.
Grandparents day was also held today. The event started with a cultural program by the kids of Nursery and had mix of song and dance. The items represented by them won a loud applause from the audience. Dance performances by tiny tots of 1st and 2nd standard students kept the audience stuck to their seats. Grandparents also joined them to cherish their old memories.
The tiny tots of UKG stole the hearts of one and all with their performance of group song. Little champs entertained the grandparents through stories, magic tricks etc. All the children prepared special cards for their grandparents and presented them as a token of love. The grandparents were given the opportunity to share experiences about their grand children.
