Mandua Theatre Club of KCPS stages 2 English plays

page12-2JAMMU, Nov 23: Mandua Theatre Club of KC Public School gives opportunities to its students to express themselves effectively through the medium of drama.
The ‘Mandua’ Open Air Theatre on the school campus is a facility of its own kind where theatrical performances are presented throughout the year in front of parents of the children involved in a stage production.
The scripts of the plays presented by the children of class 5 today morning were adapted from stories in their English text books.
The actors exhibited their understanding of stories with exceptional histrionic talent and confidence.
The children of Class VA presented a play adapted from the story ‘Kafal Pako’. Kafal is a small berry that grows in Uttarakhand. The play was well enacted by the students using Pahari folk music in the background to highlight the folk element of the tale. Meliha in the lead role of the village girl Nandi put up a sterling performance. Class 5th-G presented a short play adapted from the story, ‘Alice in Wonderland’ by Lewis Carroll. Ojasvi Kaul as the main protagonist of the story lived her role admirably well. The special guest on the occasion was Sandeep Raina, IT Head of UFLEX Pvt. Ltd.
The best actor award in the female lead role went to both Meliha and Ojasvi Kaul. Maitri and Pragi won the award for best female support role and Arnav Raina won it for the best male support role. In his congratulatory note, the special guest appreciated the school for making theatre a part and parcel of the curriculum. He also gave away certificates to award winners and participants.
