JAMMU, Oct 1: Bharat Vikas Parishad Swami Vivekanand Branch Gandhi Nagar, Jammu organized a Patriotic Group Song Competition at Luthra Academy School, here today.
10 schools of the surrounding area participated in the event.
The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp.
Prof Jigar Mohd, Dean Social Studies, Jammu University was the chief guest on the occasion, while Prof SC Anand was the guest of honour.
Earlier, Surinder Sethi, President of the branch presented the welcome address.
Prof Vijay Lakshmi, retired Principal GCW acted as the judge.
Later-on, ML Vaid presented vote of thanks.
Meanwhile, in Hindi category, Shiksha Niketan HS Gandhi Nagar claimed the first and second position, while Durga HSS Shastri Nagar won the third position.
In Sanskrit Category, SD Tarapuri, Shiksha Niketan and Durga HSS claimed the first three positions respectively.
Over 200 students attended the programme, which was conducted by Arun Sharma, State Vice President BVP.
