JAMMU, Dec 12: Patiala XI defeated Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Akhnoor by 4 wickets to advance in the ongoing 2nd Anti Drug Cricket Tournament, being organized by Red Rose Cricket Club at Sports Stadium, Arnia, near here.
Winning the toss and batting first, FCC Akhnoor scored 146 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Mohit Sharma was the top scorer with 53 runs off 44 balls, studded with 5 fours and 3 sixes, while Jaipal contributed 33 off 30 balls with 2 fours and one six.
Mahinder and Dalip took 2 wickets each from Patiala XI.
In reply, Patiala XI reached the required target in 19 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Isher Khan scored 32 runs, while Chintu and Maninder contributed 22 and 20 runs to the totals respectively. For FCC Akhnoor, Binny and Parveen claimed one wicket each.
