JAMMU, Dec 12: Brilliant all-round show by Amrit Pal Singh and magnificent batting display by Paras Sharma helped Vishal Cricket Club and Horizon Cricket Club to register convincing wins over their rivals and enter into the semifinals of J&K UT T20 Friendship Championship, being played at KC Sports Club and Parade Ground here.
At KC Sports Club, Vishal Cricket Club defeated Secretariat Blues XI by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Secretariat Blues XI scored 153 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Mushtaq top scored with 51 runs. From Vishal Club, Amrit Pal Singh took 5 wickets, while Rajesh Gill and Jasprit claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Vishal Cricket Club chased the target in 17 overs by losing 3 wickets. Amritpal Singh (60), Ramandeeep Singh (42) and Rohan Gill (29) were the main scorers. From Secretariat XI, Ameen took 2 wickets while Imtiaz claimed 1. Amritpal Singh was declared as the man of the match.
At Parade Ground, Horizon Cricket Club defeated Friends Cricket Club by 73 runs.
Batting first, Horizon Club scored 231 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Paras Sharma played a magnificent innings of power-packed 76 runs off 30 balls, while Ayush contributed 48 runs and Kanhaiya contributed 37 runs.
Rajat took 2 wickets and Sahil claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Friends Club managed to score 158 runs to lose the match by 73 runs. Rishu (58) and Abhishek (33) were the main scorers.
Abhay and Paras took 2 wickets each. Paras Sharma was declared as the man of the match.
