Param FC, Sainik Colony seal berth in final

JAMMU, Apr 11: Outplaying their respective rivals convincingly in the semifinals, Param Football Club (FC) and Sainik Colony Football Club entered the final of the ongoing 1st Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament, being organized by Young Heroes Football Club, under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
In the first semifinal, Param FC defeated the Vijay Heroes by a solitary goal and the goal scorer was Satnam Singh in the 35th minute of the match.
For foul play, yellow card was shown to Brijender in 53rd minute and Satnam Singh of Param FC in 60th minute of the match, while for Vijay Heroes, Achal Sharma was shown yellow card for dangerous play in 19th minute of the match. For his superb display of soccer skills, Satnam Singh of Param FC was adjudged man of the match.
In another semifinal match, Sainik Colony trounced Young Heroes by foul goals to three (4-3) via tie-breaker.
The match ended in a goalless draw in the stipulated time and was decided via tie-breaker.
In the tie-breaker, Dimple, Bhanu Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Dharam Pal succeeded in scoring goals for Sainik Colony, while Vishal Kumar, Vishal Sharma and Vijay Kumar managed to score goals for Young Heroes.
For Young Heroes, Mukesh Kumar, Ranjit Rana and Varun Sharma missed the target in tie-breaker, while for Sainik Colony, Gagandep Singh and Niteshwar failed to net the goals in tie-breaker.
The matches were officiated by Rajesh Sumbria, Harleen Singh, Rohit Kumar Gupta, Harmanjeet Singh and Rinku Gill.
Prominent among others the matches were witnessed by S Surinder Singh Bunty, S Amarjeet Singh, Harbans Lal, Charan Dass, Devi Dass, Ramesh Chander, S Kuldeep Singh, Bansi Lal and Narinder Gupta.
Sainik Colony Football Club will take on Param FC in the summit clash on April 13, 2014 at 3:30 pm at the same venue.
