Pappu Club emerges winner in Open Volleyball Tournament

MENDHAR, Apr 1: Pappu Club has emerged winner, whereas Shaheed Lyaqat Ali Club got the runner-up trophy in the Open Volleyball Tournament organized by Jammu Kashmir Police (JKP) under Civic Action Programme at Government Boys Higher Secondary School here today.
A total of six volleyball teams from various areas of Mendhar Tehsil participated in the tournament and were vying for the coveted trophy.
On the occasion, Tehsildar Mendhar Mohammad Rafiq Mughal was the chief guest who presented trophies to the winner as well as runner up teams besides mementoes and suitable cash rewards to all the players of both the teams in presence of guest of honour of the occasion retd SP Mohammad Razaq Khan. The best player award was conferred to Wasim Ahmed.
SDPO Mendhar Surinder Choudhary who organized the tournament on behalf of SSP Poonch was also present along with SHO Mendhar Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, lecturer Bashir Mir, Master Mohammad Alyas Jatt, Vijay Chandan Mir, Alam Abrar Khan, Gulam Abass, Advocate Raqeeq Ahmed Khan and police staff.
Large number of people witnessed the volleyball matches and boosted the morale of players by thundering applauses.
