POONCH, Aug 6: Poonch District Fencing Association conducted one-day District Fencing Championship 2018 at Sports Stadium, here today.
35 fencers of different schools and clubs participated in Sabre, Epee and Foil Events of the Championship.
Prominent persons present on the occasion were Ajay Kumar, Assistant Professor, Krishan Lal, Secretary Poonch Fencing Association, Ravinder Singh, Assistant Physical Instructor, Degree College Poonch, Umar Abdullah and Sahil Sharmra.
Devinder Singh clinched gold in Sabre junior category by defeating Inderpreet by 10/08. While Sachin and Abhijeet won bronze in this category.
In Sub Junior Epee Boys category Sufian won gold by defeating Murtza in the finals by 10/7. Harpoon and Rizwan won combined bronze.
In Sub Junior Foil Adil clinch gold by just one point by defeating Javaid. The score remains 10/9. Sahid and naser won bronze.
In Junior Foil Dilprert Singh won gold and Rudraparatap won silver while combined bronze goes to Sachin and Devinder.
The matches were officiated by Gourav Verma and Vikas Kumar.
