JAMMU, Jan 30: Oil Indus-try in J&K comprising of BPCL, IOCL and HPCL under the flag of Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), organized a Cycle Rally comprising of over 100 cyclists from various retail outlets and LPG distributors of Jammu City, here today.
The Rally was flagged off from Bharat Petroleum’s Police Parivar Retail Outlet at Gandhi Nagar.
The objective of the Rally was to make the citizens aware about the need of conservation of Petroleum products as these are limited and will deplete over the years to come.
The fornight long awareness which started on January 16 will conclude on January 31, witnessing a larger number of activities from schools to motor mechanics.
Dr SP Vaid, ADGP was the chief guest on the occasion, while Alok Kumar, DIG was the guest of honour.
The chief guest flagged off the Rally after an impressive ‘nukkad natak’ performed by the local artists, conveying the message of energy conservation.
The Rally passed through various areas of Gandhi Nagar and culminated finally at HPCL’s Office.
Earlier, State Level Coordi-nator, Hari Anupam presented welcome address, while Rajesh Sharma, Territory Manager (Retail) BPCL threw light on the importance of such programmes.
Ajay Singh, Senior Regional Manager, HPCL presented vote of thanks.
