JAMMU, Jan 30: KC Sports Club registered emphatic win in the ongoing 4th Eid-Diwali- Christmas T20 Cricket Cup for students and youths of the state and entered in the semifinals at Parade Ground, here today.
The tournament in which 24 teams are participating is being organized jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, Simula Sports Club, Atman Sports Club and Christian Sports Organization.
The Organizing Committee includes Hilal Rather,Sanjay Mahajan, Rajesh Gill, David Mattoo, Asif Gill, Rajesh Dhar, RP Singh, Sunil Sambyal and Sunny Gill.
The slogan of the tournament is “Khelo Khushi Sey- Par Nasha Mat karo”.
Batting first, KC Sports Club scored a good total of 173 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Surya top scored with 42 runs and Shubam Pundir made 36 runs. Micky took 4 wickets and Bhanu bagged 3 wickets for Jammu Stars XI.
Jammu Star, in reply bundled out for 124 runs, thus lost the match by 49 runs . Anand Tripathi and Micky were the main scorers with 23 and 17 runs respectively. Arjun Choudhary and Karan Bhat took 3 wickets each, while Vivek took 2 wickets and Abhishant claimed one wicket for KC Sports Club. Suyra was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod, Sanju and Danny.
In tomorrow’s fixtures, JKP Jr. XI will take on Christian Sports Jr. at 8.30 am in 2nd JKP New Year Tri-Series U-15; Jammu Police XI will meet Khalsa Cricket Club at 11 am in the last quarterfinal match of 4th Eid-Diwali-Christmas Cricket Cup and JK Assembly and Secretariat Seniors XI will lock horns against each other at 2:30 pm in 2nd New Year T20 for Veterans Cup.
