KATRA, Sept 5: National Service Scheme (NSS) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVD University) organized a briefing session on “Swachhata Pakhwada” for all the new Undergraduate students.
Around 200 students participated in this event.
The programme was coordinated by Sumanta S. Sharma, (Faculty Coordinator, NSS) under the guidance of Dr. Varun K. Tripathi (Nodal Officer, Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan) highlighted and briefing about the notion of Swachhata Pakhwada – a Government of India initiative for spreading the message of cleanliness and working for it in a fortnight commencing from 01-09-2017 to 15-09-2017.
It is worth mentioning that SS Sharma briefed in details to the under-graduate students about various major activities like Clean Campus, Green Campus, Clean Hostel, Clean Mess, Clean surroundings, Cleanest Hostel room contest, etc. and various essay and elocution contest to be held during the coming two weeks. Students were encouraged to participate in these events.
In the end, the session culminated with question-answer session.
