DFA’s Division ‘A’ matches

SRINAGAR, Sept 15: Nishat and Al-Rashid FC registered emphatic wins over their opponents including Baghi Hamdan FC and Makhdoomi FC by 2 goals to nil in the DFA Annual Football League’s Division ‘A’ matches, being organised by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council at Gindun Ground, here today.
The first match was played between Baghi Hamdan FC & Nishat FC. In the closely contested match, both the teams missed several scoring opportunities. Zeshan opened the account for Nishat FC. Nishat FC consolidated their lead by scoring another goal through Mushtaq Ahmad. Both the teams play aggressive football. Baghi Hamdan FC was desperate to score an equaliser. After trailing by two goals, the Baghi Hamdan FC players tried their best to score and stepped up the attacks but the defence lines of the Nishat FC team ensured that no goal was scored till the referee blew the final whistle. Thus, Nishat FC defeated Baghi Hamdan FC by 2:0 goals.
The 2nd match was played between Makhdoomi FC and Al- Rashid FC. As the match started, the forwards of both the teams started attacking each other’s goalposts to seize an early initiative. However, defence lines of both the teams ensured that no damage was done. Hatim and Kamran of Al- Rashid FC broke the jinx by scoring first and 2nd goal for his team. Trailing by two goals, the Makhdomi FC Players tried their best to score, but the strong defensive line of Al- Rashid FC team thwarted all their attempts.
